Eco-village Video - New Edition Now Available.

A 14 minute video for land developers, land buyers, and prospective eco-villagers, this aims to introduce people to alternative concepts and practices to those used in mainstream subdivisions. It identifies the key eco-village elements used in the design of Crystal Waters, illustrating the points with footage of the many different homes, people, wildlife and scenic spots of the property.

Eco-village Video on CD-ROM

A 14 minute video in MPEG1 format on CD-ROM for land developers, land buyers, and prospective eco-villagers, this aims to introduce people to alternative concepts and practices to those used in mainstream subdivisions. It identifies the key eco-village elements used in the design of Crystal Waters, illustrating the points with footage of the many different homes, people, wildlife and scenic spots of the property.

The Crystal Waters video, along with the accompanying booklet in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat formats can be found in the VIDEO folder.

The video is an MPEG1 movie and requires a PC running Windows95 or later and a processor with 200MHz speed or greater, and a CD-ROM drive with at least 4X speed. Those with recent computer hardware will be able to view the video in full screen mode using any video software such as Windows Media Player. (Any recent Macintosh can also view the movie in Quicktime.) The video is highly compressed to VHS quality and is best viewed at full screen size when sitting back as you would view a television program.

CW_1991 contains some photographs of Crystal Waters taken in the early days of the village.
CW_2002 contains recent high quality photographs of Crystal Waters and the new EcoCentre.
ECOCENTRE contains photographs and a small website of the construction of our new facility, together with the colour booklet on the EcoCentre in Acrobat format.
NEWSLETTERS contains back copies of GENOA newsletters from 1996 to the present time in Adobe Acrobat format and also the text from some articles in webpage format.
SCREENSAVERS contains four screensaver programs for Windows users highlighting the beauty of the Crystal Waters EcoVillage. To install them just drag to your hard disk and double click to run the installer.

Australia & New Zealand

A directory of 36 ecovillages and intentional communities in Australia and New Zealand. Includes information on each community’s size, age and primary focus, history, how they deal with issues like shelter, food, water, energy use, spirituality, community 'glue', work and outreach activities. It also includes contact information for each community and whether or not the community accepts visitors/wwoofers.

There are a number of information 'boxes' on subjects like city farms, growing your own food, fair trade, LETS, community supported agriculture, as well as an extensive resource list and a definition (with examples) of what makes an eco-village.
