Kavitha Urvasie Selvaraj

A third generation Aurovilian, Kavitha is Indian/Dutch by nationality. She studied Sustainable Development in the Netherlands. She has since then worked for the Auroville's Entry Service, the New Era Secondary School, and Pitchandikulam’s project ‘Sustainable Enterprise Development in the Auroville BioRegion’. Kavitha is currently working as a YouthLink coodinator to engage youth in all aspects of our community and to build a campus for the youth. She is also a part of the GEN Auroville desk that is eager to connect Auroville more deeply to GEN & Gaia Education. She says, “As Auroville nears its 50th anniversary in 2018, real shifts have taken place. There is an energy that is gaining momentum towards supporting youth in taking central roles in Auroville’s development in the next coming decades – just as our parents and grandparents have done so successfully as pioneers. I believe that it is time Auroville reaches out to other Intentional Communities worldwide, and I look forward to helping connect the many interested Aurovilian and local youth to GEN and Gaia Education in the near future.
