The community's main project is the reforestation of 70 acres of severely eroded land. We are working to re-create the Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest indigenous to our area. The Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest is now close to total extinction as only 0.01% survives. This is a last moment effort to keep this very rich and beautiful Forest on earth.

Even though all of us are aware of these problems we (as people and most of the governments) are still acting as we have plenty and all the solutions!!!

Govardhan Eco Village is an ISKCON Chowpatty (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) initiative under the inspiration and guidance of Radhanath Swami, who is the spiritual mentor at ISKCON Chowpatty, Mumbai, India. It is a farm community spread over a scenic landscape of 63 acres at Galtare, Wada situated 110 km North of Mumbai. Since its inception in the year 2003, Govardhan Eco Village has made steady progress in organic farming, cow protection, gurukul, sustainable living, alternative energy etc.

The Timbaktu Collective is a registered Voluntary Organisation that was initiated in 1990, to work for sustainable development in the drought prone Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) INDIA.

Today the Collective has a team of 105 members and works in about 140 villages of Chennekothapalli, Roddam and Ramagiri mandals of Anantapur district, serving about 13,000 marginalised families.

Sapney translates as dreams in Sanskrit and forms the base of a community of artists and dreamers living in the Auroville area. We are currently co-creating Dream Surfing Art Festival, which will be held on the site in December 2009. The festival will bring people to create art through workshops, events, music, documentary screenings, music, food, drink and much more. The community aims for people to share their skills as artists and co-creators inspiring and manifesting their dreams.
