Max Lindegger’s Gift
By Penelope Reyes
October 16, 2009 marked an important milestone in the life of GENOA. On this day, Max Lindegger, the founder of this organization, officially retired from his 13 years of hard work and dedication to GENOA. Through a democratic process, members of the organization elected Penelope Reyes of the Philippines as president, and Michiyo Furuhashi of Japan as vice-president, both of who, also represent GENOA to the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) Board.

This transition would not have been possible without the tireless networking that Max has done over the years. His travels around Asia for Ecovillage-related concerns helped in creating the Global Ecovillage Network Oceania & Asia as we see it today.
To date, GENOA has 12 members countries represented by Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Sri Lanka, South Korea, and Thailand.
Regional Headquarters also moved from Crystal Waters Ecovillage Australia, to Cabiao, Nueva Ecija, Philippines.
Max is currently dedicating his time to his newly formed “Ecovillage Research Group” and publishes a bi-monthly newsletter called Ecovillage Musings.
Our deep gratitude goes to you MAX, for your invaluable support for GENOA!
